ExplorACES 2007 Set

A unique opportunity for prospective students to learn about life in the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) will be available March 9-10 at ExplorACES 2007.

"This event is created specifically for high school and community college students, their parents and friends," explained Jay Kelley, publicity chair for the student-organized event. "This is the third annual ExplorACES event. Through hands-on, interactive exhibits, students and professors from across the College will demonstrate what we have accomplished as we progress in our fields of study."

The event runs from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on March 9 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 10. The exhibits are held in several College buildings and a tent north of the Edward R. Madigan Laboratory building (ERML) at the intersection of Goodwin Ave. and Gregory Drive will serve as the entry point.

Among the exhibits and demonstrations are: a quarter-scale tractor built by students for competition, sample foods, live animal displays, mini-classes, food and bio-process engineering exhibits, and information on admissions requirements, financial aid, housing, and other items of interest to prospective students.

More information is available at the event's website.
