Mexico Immersion Trip
The purpose of the international immersion experience for the ACES Global Academy Scholars is to expose a select group of 7 young faculty members to international contacts in pursuing joint research or teaching activities that pertain to each specific faculty member's area of study. (Our areas of study vary from pig reproduction research to family resilience, to consumer economics, to renewable fuel development, to wild plant propagation). In addition, we hope to immerse each faculty member in an ongoing international research project that encompasses all disciplines of the Academy Scholars and will explain how an international research project may work, and introduce the participating faculty members to opportunities and contacts that encourage such research projects to be funded and implemented.
The scholars will learn about how to instigate contacts and programs to make an international collaboration happen, and hopefully inspire them to begin such collaborations upon their return in their area of study or across disciplines in areas that will benefit the College as a whole.
