College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences
Strategic Task Forces
2003-2004
Based on stakeholder and faculty input obtained from strategic planning processes in 2003, gaps were identified between the preferred future and where the College of ACES is today. A number of commonalities emerged and priority themes were identified, each framed in the context of ACES' future as Globally Preeminent and Locally Relevant. Four task forces were charged. Two final reports are available below for review and comment.
Note: Reports are available as PDFs. You will be required to log in using your UIUC NetID to leave comments.
Identity
To frame the defining characteristics and to describe the domains of interest that comprise ACES' identity, now and in the future, as ACES seeks to be globally preeminent and locally relevant, and to assess and measure the consistency of related emphases on those respective domains with the mission and values of ACES.
Internal Culture
To assess the nature of internal expectations of the College of ACES that are necessary to develop a globally preeminent and locally relevant culture, and to identify the leadership qualities and changes in mindset that will allow the College of ACES to anticipate and respond to the internal and external forces that influence the future.
Strategic Relationships
To define the meaning of strategic relationships for ACES, to broadly describe how effective strategic relationships are developed, and to recommend how ACES should manage the development of these relationships, including suggestions for initiating contacts and managing relationships and relevant information.
Leadership, Governance and Management
To develop the principles, strategies, and tactics necessary to lead, govern, and manage the College of ACES to secure and achieve global preeminence and local relevance.
Findings and recommendations generated by the task forces will serve as a basis for future College planning processes.
