ITCS can receive analog and digital signals from most satellites, including KU Band and C Band. The programming can be videotaped or fed to rooms in the Animal Sciences Laboratory, Bevier Hall, Edward R. Madigan Laboratory, National Soybean Research Center, Mumford Hall, or Turner Hall. Generally only one or two rooms in each building are wired to receive satellite signals. Room size and availability varies, so please make your request early. There is no charge for the downlink service to ACES clients, but there is a small service charge for videotaping a conference. ACES can originate a video conferences through Satellite Uplink, dial-up compressed video, desktop video, fiber optics, or video streaming. ITCS can arrange for Uplink transmission capability through campus interconnections to others on campus, in Champaign, or in Chicago. The client covers the cost. |
