ITCS can receive analog and digital signals from most satellites, including KU Band and C Band. Programming can be videotaped or fed to rooms in the Animal Sciences Laboratory, Bevier Hall, Edward R. Madigan Laboratory, National Soybean Research Center, Mumford Hall, and Turner Hall. Generally only one or two rooms in each building are wired to receive satellite signals. Room sizes and availability vary, so please make your request early. There is no charge for the downlink service to ACES clients, but there is a $25 charge per videotape. ACES can originate videoconferences through satellite uplink, dial-up compressed video, desktop video, fiber optics, and video streaming. ITCS can arrange for uplink transmission capability through campus interconnections to others on campus, in Champaign, or in Chicago. The client covers the cost. |
