WORMSEED MUSTARD, Erysimum
cheiranthoides L. 1, plant; 2, flower; 3, seed
pod; 4, seed. Annual or winter annual, reproducing
by seed. Stem erect, simple or sparingly branched, 1 to 2 feet (30
to 60 cm) tall, green or slightly grayish. Leaves numerous, alternate,
lanceolate, tapering to the base, slightly toothed, finely pubescent. Flowers
bright yellow, small, 4-petaled. Seed pods somewhat 4-angled,
elongate, pedicels spreading at 45° angle from stem. Seeds small,
oblong, brownish. Found on moist soils in corn, soybeans, small
grains, or noncultivated areas.
