Access To Barn

Because the highest hay prices are usually paid in mid-winter, the hay shed must be accessible in all kinds of weather.

A gravel roadbed capable of handling 20 tons should lead to the barn. In addition, check the road's width and condition from the highway to your farmstead. Look for obstacles such as weak bridges, narrow culverts, overhanging trees, and low-hanging telephone and electrical wires.

At the barn, there also must be enough space to maneuver a 60- to 70-foot semitrailer and tractor.
