Reading an Article
(Article Threading)
The majority of the Acrobat PDFs on VISTA are "threaded"
to allow you to easily read the publications onscreen. The threading features
makes it easy for you to follow a single article that winds across many
pages or columns.
To see if an article has been threaded, click on the Hand tool and move
it over some text. If the hand has an arrow inside it, the article is threaded.
Also, the words "Read Article" appear in the status line at the
bottom of the screen.
To read a threaded article
Select the Hand tool and click any part of the article to start reading
at that point. To start reading at the beginning of the article, hold the
Control key (Windows) or Option key (Macintosh) and click the mouse. You'll
be taken to the first page of the article.
As you read an article, the Hand tool will continue to be shown, with
a down arrow inside it. The words "Follow Article"
appear in the status line.
As you read along, continue clicking the mouse to advance through the
article. When you reach the end of the article, the arrow inside the Hand
tool will change and the words "End Article" will show in the status
line. Click again to return to the page view displayed before you started
reading,the article.
To exit an article at any time
To stop reading an article, select any navigation method other than pressing
